Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Instruct adults in ESL classes ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide feedback.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws and organizational policies.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and needs.
Job Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
- TESL/TEFL certification or equivalent.
- Experience in teaching ESL to diverse populations.
- Strong understanding of the Canadian Language Benchmarks and PBLA (Portfolio-Based Language Assessment).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Eligibility to work in Canada; for international applicants, visa sponsorship will be provided.
Education and Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- TESL/TEFL certification or equivalent is required.
- Additional certifications in adult education are an asset.
