As a Healthcare Assistant in the Outpatient Department, I support the nursing and medical staff by ensuring patients are well-prepared and comfortable during their appointments. My responsibilities include: Greeting and assisting patients when they arrive, taking and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, preparing patients for procedures and consultations, supporting clinicians during minor procedures, maintaining clean and safe clinical areas, updating patient records and assisting with administrative tasks and providing reassurance and basic care to patients, ensuring their dignity and privacy at all times.

My main duties include: assisting patients with personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, monitoring and recording vital signs like temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, supporting patients with mobility, including helping them move or walk safely, making beds and ensuring a clean, comfortable environment for patients, observing and reporting any changes in a patient’s condition to the nursing staff, offering emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, assisting nurses and doctors with clinical tasks and preparing equipment when needed and maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring confidentiality at all times.
