Job Responsibilities:

1. Operate and drive primarily tractor-trailers, long-combination vehicles, and straight-body trucks to transport goods and materials over long distances.
2. Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
3. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection of the vehicle including its systems, equipment, and accessories such as tires, lights, turning signals, and brakes.
4. Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
5. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
6. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
7. Administer bills of lading and manually or electronically maintain logbooks.
8. Communicate with dispatchers and other drivers using two-way radios, cellular phones, and on-board computers.
9. May perform emergency roadside repairs.

Job Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license (Class 1 or A, air brake endorsement may also be required).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of direct work experience as a long-haul truck driver.
• Able to drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Clean driving record and criminal history.
• English language proficiency is required for communication and safety purposes.
• Eligibility to be legally employed in Canada, including passing relevant background checks for visa sponsorship.
• Education and Experience:
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• On-the-job training will be provided.
